These Terms of Use govern your use of LandlordSquare (the "Site"), including the notice generators, guides and downloads. By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Not a law firm; no legal advice

LandlordSquare is a self-help document-preparation tool. We are not a law firm, we are not lawyers, and we do not provide legal advice, legal opinions or recommendations about your legal rights, remedies, defenses, options or strategies. Using the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no communication through the Site is privileged or confidential. The Site is not a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney in your state.

2. Templates only; no guarantee

The notices are general templates filled in with the information you provide. We make no promise or guarantee that any notice is legally sufficient, complete, current, or appropriate for your situation, that it will be accepted by any court, or that it will produce any particular result. Laws, court rules, local ordinances and their interpretation change and vary by location and by the facts. Date calculations are provided for convenience, are based on the inputs you give and our reading of the cited sources, and may be wrong for your situation.

3. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for: (a) the accuracy of the information you enter; (b) deciding whether a notice is appropriate; (c) reviewing the notice and verifying it against the current law, your lease, any rent regulation and any local ordinance; (d) serving the notice correctly and on time; and (e) obtaining legal advice where appropriate. You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, including harassment, retaliation, discrimination, or any eviction without a court order.

4. Provided "as is"; disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, TEMPLATES, CALCULATIONS AND DOCUMENTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

5. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LANDLORDNOTICES, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, CONTRACTORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF RENT, PROFITS, POSSESSION, DATA OR GOODWILL, COURT COSTS, ATTORNEYS' FEES, OR THE DISMISSAL OR DELAY OF ANY LEGAL PROCEEDING, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY DOCUMENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE DOCUMENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH, FOR FREE USE, IS ZERO DOLLARS). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

6. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LandlordSquare and its owners and operators from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, any document you create or serve, or your violation of these terms or the law.

7. Paid features

The Site is free during beta. If paid downloads are introduced, prices and any refund terms will be shown before purchase, and these terms will continue to apply.

8. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site, and may update these terms, at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

10. Not affiliated

LandlordSquare is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any court, government agency or bar association.
