The short version

  • What you type into a notice stays on your device. The form and the PDF are built by JavaScript in your browser. Names, addresses, amounts and dates are not sent to our server and are not stored by us.
  • We keep anonymous counts so we know which notices are useful.
  • No accounts, no advertising trackers, no selling of data.

What we count

When you load a page or use a generator, your browser sends a small anonymous event to our server. It contains: the event type (page view, form opened, form started, form section reached, review clicked, missing-field message shown, preview, back to edit, agreement box ticked, download, print, left the page, site search, state filter), the page path, a random number created for that one page load (kept only in memory, never saved on your device) so we can see at which step people stop, the section number reached, the names of form fields that were left empty or last used (for example "rent due date" — never what you typed in them), how long the form took in seconds, the notice type and state, the county you selected (for example "Kings" or "Hudson"), the website you came from (domain only, such as google.com), any campaign tag in the link (utm_source/utm_campaign), whether the screen is mobile or desktop, and, for the search box on our home page, the words you typed into that search box (letters and numbers only, up to 40 characters).

To count unique visitors without cookies, our server computes a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type with a secret value that changes every day, and stores only a short piece of that hash. We do not store your IP address. The hash cannot be used to identify you, and it cannot be linked across days.

What we do not collect

We do not collect landlord or tenant names, addresses, rent amounts, dates or any other content of the notices. We do not use cookies or local storage for tracking. (One local setting, "ln_notrack", lets you opt out; see below.)

Opting out

Visit any page with ?notrack at the end of the address once, or turn on "Do Not Track" in your browser, and your browser will stop sending events.

Hosting

The Site is hosted on a cloud provider that, like all web hosts, processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse. That processing is governed by the host's own policies.

Children

The Site is for adults managing rental property and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change.
